Art, Gastronomy and Sounds:
Walter Robinson, Kaspar Muller and Darren Bader x Japanese Cuisine X Sounds by Carter Jackson-Brown
During this year’s Art Basel Miami, the Initiators of Synesthesia - Thomas Hug, Christian Cedras, Simon Meillet and Digo Mevs - invite art and food lovers to a culinary collaboration featuring the artists Walter Robinson (galleries Bertrand & Jeffrey Deitch), Kaspar Müller, and Darren Bader (SOCIÉTÉ Berlin). The artists will exhibit works in dialogue with a unique menu featuring Japanese inspired cuisines.
The Japanese menu will feature six courses including grill and sashimi courses. Sounds by Carter Jackson-Brown.
The three artists involved have an established history of engaging with spaces and have frequently referred to food and its presentation in their respective oeuvres. Walter Robinson’s wry, often satirical works frequently address popular culture and the ways in which food features as an aspect of modern consumption practices - as well as nourishment. Darren Bader is known for his conceptually challenging works which centre dialogues between spaces, works, and the expectations of historical media, particularly sculpture. Kaspar Müller’s practice is multifaceted, often slyly challenging the ways in which audience relate to spaces and objects.
